What to wear
Lookbook
A loose guide for each event — wear what makes you feel like you, in the spirit of the day.

Event 01
Haldi
sunny, playful, yellow
Wear yellow or soft pastels like light pink or turquoise. We'll be outside by the pool, and Goa in October is still very warm. A heads up: this is the ceremony where everyone takes turns smearing turmeric paste on the bride and groom (and eventually each other), so choose something you're okay with turning permanently yellow. Skip closed-toe shoes.

Event 02
Swayambar
traditional, radiant, ceremonial
— an evening in the valley —
Bring out the traditional looks: sarees, kurtas, anarkalis, daura suruwals, dhaka topis, all of it. Opt for fabrics like silk, chiffon, or rich embroidery and lean into the magic of golden hour. The swayambar is the moment Sam chooses Sooraj from a lineup of suitors (yes, that's genuinely how the Nepali tradition goes), so dress for the occasion. Skip pure white and black; tradition reserves those for other occasions.

Event 03
Hindu Wedding
elegant, festive, auspicious
The main event: go full formal traditional. Sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, or other classic attire are all perfect for this daytime ceremony. Reds and golds are timeless, and jewel tones photograph beautifully. It will be warm, and this is when Sam and Sooraj take the seven pheras around the fire, so plan to be seated or gathered near the mandap for the ceremony. Skip pure white and black; tradition reserves those for other occasions.

Event 04
Sangeet & Reception
glam, electric, celebratory
It's time to disco! Think Indo-western, sharp suits, sarees, lehengas, or gowns. Anything that catches the light and lets you move. With a full bar, DJ, and zero chill, dress for a long night of dancing. If you're wearing heels, consider a flats swap halfway through — we won't tell anyone ;)
