Finally Met

After years of living across continents, countries, and cities, in 2020, our paths finally crossed. We met one evening at Monday Night Brewing, and from that very first conversation, something clicked.

We quickly discovered how much we had in common: growing up between places, always feeling a bit like outsiders, shared ties to hill stations, overlapping memories of places like Kerala, and a mutual love for electronic music, goat curry, and tennis. What started as easy conversation turned into something much deeper. You know that feeling when you’re laughing so hard your stomach hurts? Somewhere in those early days, we realized this could be a lifelong friend.

As we explored Atlanta together (both of us seeing the city with fresh eyes), our friendship grew into a partnership rooted in comfort, curiosity, and shared joy. Over time, that bond was tested and strengthened through some of the hardest turns of our lives: ACL tears, job losses, and the all-too-familiar feeling of being lost in your 20s. Through it all, we showed up for each other and became each other’s steady support system. Today, we can’t imagine our lives without one another.

In 2024, on a trip to a national park in Maine, Sooraj got down on one knee, and two years later, we’re so excited to make it official with all of you by our side.
